Prior to entering the field of dentistry, I was employed as a tax analyst working with investment funds. Although I enjoyed the challenges of this position, after tedious hours and many numbers later, I desired a career focused more upon engaging and helping people. I had always been intrigued by dentistry; a field in which I would be able to use skills and talents, providing needed care to individuals. It was during my career in the financial industry, however, that the word “Bespoke” first caught my attention, as many in the industry wore bespoke, or tailor-made suits. I believe the term Bespoke can also be applied to dentistry and a patient’s dental experience. I understand that each patient is unique and requires treatment geared to their individual needs.
Having had extensive dental work myself, I understand what it’s like to be a patient in the dental chair and appreciate thoughtful care.
I completed my undergraduate education at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL where I graduated cum laude with majors in both Finance and Management and Organizational Behavior. Eventually, I pursued and earned a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine. Prior to practicing in St. Charles, I practiced in Homer Glen, IL and Chicago, IL becoming proficient in all phases of dentistry. I am a strong believer in continuing education, affording the highest quality of dental care to my patients. I am also a passionate advocate within the dental community and contribute regularly to various presentations designed to address the changes and challenges facing dentistry. I also have enjoyed lecturing at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine designed to provide support and assistance to dental students as they transition into the field of dentistry upon graduation.
When I am not doing, or lecturing about dentistry, I enjoy golfing and spending summer weekends in Minocqua, Wisconsin with family.
My favorite thing about dentistry is seeing people genuinely smile. It is my goal to give my patients a healthy smile that they love. I understand that going to the dentist can be overwhelming. I strive to provide a comfortable and simplified dental experience for everyone. I am aware that this may mean different things to different people. Part of our vision and goal at Bespoke Dental Co. is to provide our patients with customized (or bespoke) dental care. We take time to listen and learn about our patients, to discuss their possible concerns, and proceed together to make the experience enjoyable. We also take the time to educate our patients on their oral health and conditions so that they have all the tools necessary to make decisions about their dental care on their own and feel confident in doing so.
I grew up in the small town of East Grand Forks, Minnesota (not far from Fargo, North Dakota-yes, like the movie). I attended undergraduate school at The University of Minnesota Duluth and received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. During this time, I explored many career options, but it was my child-hood dentist who encouraged me to explore the field of dentistry. I quickly became intrigued in the profession as it involved many aspects that complimented my personality and interests. It allowed me to develop quality, personal relationships with people, to utilize my interest in art and creativity by working with my hands to create life-like teeth, and apply my background in science to medical and oral health. I made the move to Illinois where I combined my love for art and science to receive my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Illinois in Downers Grove, Il. During my time at Midwestern, I was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and continue my pursuit in dental education into my professional career so that I can offer the best treatment options and care to my patients.
I am especially interested in restorative and cosmetic dentistry because I love when smiles look and feel good.
In my spare time I enjoy pinterest projects, enjoying as many of the Chicago-land restaurants as I can, biking, spending time on the lake in the summers, traveling, and reading good books.
